He comes from a distinguished family of lawyers including his father James D. Ryan and grandfather the Hon. Ronald M. Ryan, a circuit court judge for Calhoun County. Ron’s great-uncle, two cousins, an uncle, his sister, and his brother-in-law are all attorneys as well. He is proud to now work closely with his cousin David E. Ryan, also a member of Lewis, Reed & Allen P.C.
Ron earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Hillsdale College in 1988 and his Juris Doctorate degree from The University of Detroit in 1991. Ron remains a licensed attorney not only in Michigan, but Illinois as well.
Before joining Lewis, Reed and Allen, Ron was for eighteen years a partner in Ryan, Jamieson, Morris, Ryan and Smith, a law firm that was started by his father. Ron has performed litigation work in workers' compensation cases, insurance defense, insurance litigation, personal injury, Social Security Disability, and commercial and civil litigation. He also is frequently retained by local clients to perform commercial and civil litigation services in Chicago, Illinois and in other states.
