Twenty-five plus years of practice has given Steve experiences in several areas of law. Steve now focuses in the business and commercial arena, including commercial litigation, employment law, business torts, and general civil litigation. Steve also frequently serves as a mediator in both State and Federal Courts and has been certified as a facilitative mediator for the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan.

Steve is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the American Bar Association, is a past President of the Kalamazoo County Bar Association, and a past member of the Calhoun County Bar Association Executive Committee. Steve is admitted to practice before all State and Federal Courts in Michigan.

Steve’s community activities are numerous and broad-ranging. He is a member of the Board of Directors and President of the Kalamazoo Communities in Schools, and the former Chairman of the Executive Committee and Advisory Committee for the Kalamazoo County LISC Housing Partnership. He is past President and a current member of the Board of Community Living Options. Steve serves as counsel to the Governing Council of the Kalamazoo County Chamber of Commerce. He is a past President of Living Ways, Inc. and past President of Living Ways Foundation, Inc. He is past Chairman of the Leadership Kalamazoo Advisory Board and the Community Development Act Advisory Committee to the Kalamazoo City Commission. Steve is a past Member of the Revenue Advisory Committee to the Kalamazoo City Commission and of the Kalamazoo City Commission Housing Task Force. He serves as a mediator for the Kalamazoo Community Dispute Resolution Center. Steve has also enjoyed coaching in the Oakwood and Milwood Little Leagues and Kalamazoo AYSO Soccer League in past years.
