OVERVIEW

David A. Lewis was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Michigan State University – James Madison College in 1988 and his Juris Doctorate Degree from University of Detroit School of Law in 1991. David practiced law in the Detroit area before returning to Kalamazoo in 1994.

David has extensive experience in many practice areas including civil litigation, corporate/business law, employment matters, personal injury and municipal law. His practice now focuses primarily on civil litigation, business law and personal injury law.

David is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Kalamazoo County Bar Association, and the Oakland County Bar Association. He is admitted to practice before all State and Federal Courts in Michigan and the United States Court of Appeals – Sixth Circuit.

David is a past member of the Board of Directors for the Kalamazoo County Bar Association, previously serving as its Vice President and President. He has served on and Chaired the State Bar of Michigan Character and Fitness Committee – Southwestern District.  He is honored to be a Fellow of the Michigan State Bar Foundation. David has been selected as a Michigan “Super Lawyer” for several years. He is also a member of the Kalamazoo County Trial Lawyers Association. David has been active in many community service organizations in Southwest Michigan over the years.  David has served as the President of Lewis Reed & Allen since 2018.

David enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, is an avid MSU fan, and is a proud native of Kalamazoo.
