Adam originally worked for the firm as a runner and assistant to the bookkeeper from 1999-2001, while he attended Western Michigan University. He has been a shareholder of the firm since 2025. Adam is a lifetime resident of West Michigan, as he was born in Hastings, Michigan and graduated from Western with a major in political science/pre-law.

Vern Bennett joined Lewis Reed & Allen P.C. in 2014, and he is a shareholder of the firm. Previously, he was a Senior Principal (Partner) with a large, multi-jurisdictional law firm, Miller Canfield Paddock and Stone, P.L.C., with whom he had practiced in West Michigan for almost 30 years. Prior to entering the legal profession, Vern practiced as a Certified Public Accountant. He continues to maintain “registered status” as a CPA in Michigan.

Stephen M. Denenfeld has been associated with Lewis Reed & Allen P.C. or its predecessor since 1983. He attended the University of Michigan where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in 1975, and was awarded his Juris Doctorate Degree from Wayne State University in 1978.

Michael A. Dombos, a life-long resident of Kalamazoo, earned his Juris Doctorate Degree from The Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Michael received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Albion College; and his Master in Arts Degree and Masters in Business Administration, both from Western Michigan University.

Lana Maria Escamilla is a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo County, Michigan. She earned a Bachelor of Science, Cum Laude, from Western Michigan University in 2003, where she was a member of Lee Honors College and a McNair Scholar. She graduated from Michigan State University College of Law in 2007.

David A. Lewis was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Michigan State University – James Madison College in 1988 and his Juris Doctorate Degree from University of Detroit School of Law in 1991. David practiced law in the Detroit area before returning to Kalamazoo in 1994.

Christopher is a leading lawyer and the embodiment of a civil litigation attorney. Christopher has been lead trial counsel for clients from commencement of action to jury verdict or final judicial determination in a wide range of legal disputes. In addition to the representation of clients in trials he has a wealth of experience successfully arguing on behalf of clients during appeals. Dick’s practice has focused on municipal law from 1962 to present, including representation as general counsel or special counsel to townships, cities, villages, counties and the boards, bodies and agencies of these units of government throughout Michigan, including the Upper Peninsula.

Thomas C. Richardson was born in 1955 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Tom graduated with honors from Kalamazoo College in 1977, and received his law degree from the University of Michigan in 1980.

Ron was born and educated in Kalamazoo, attending the all-boys military academy Barbour Hall Academy and Hackett High School. He comes from a distinguished family of lawyers including his father James D. Ryan and grandfather the Hon.
